About Tamsin

 Hello! I'm Tamsin, founder of BakesterBox and proud owner of one massive sweet tooth. I'm from London, and used to work in the investment management industry whilst moonlight as a cake-maker. I finally decided to ditch the full-time finance job a few years ago in order to realise my dreams of becoming a pastry chef.

As a child, I used to sit in the kitchen and watch my mum bake (and cook, in general!), which is where I caught the baking bug. I received my first cookbook at the tender age of 5 and still have it to this day. 

Having baked as a hobby throughout my childhood and teens, I began to sell cakes as a side business after university, and finally started to dabble with the idea of professional training in 2017. I enrolled in an evening baking and patisserie course at Westminster Kingsway College, and having absolutely loved all 10 weeks of it, went on to complete a full 9-month patisserie diploma at Le Cordon Bleu.

Since then, I have gained work experience at The Connaught Patisserie, Miel Bakery, Bridge Baker and 11 Cadogan Gardens, and continue to sell bespoke cake and desserts online to private and corporate clients.
